# Agree > Agree is the revenue OS for finance teams: a contract-to-cash platform where agreements, billing, invoicing, payments, collections, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and the month-end close run on one record that starts at the signed contract. Six AI agents do the work from signature to close, inside rules the team sets. Agree is not a general ledger, ERP or CRM: it syncs with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Salesforce and HubSpot. ## What Agree is, in one line Agree turns a signed contract into structured data, then bills, collects, recognizes and reconciles revenue from it automatically, so the books agree from day one and the month closes on time. ## Company facts - Name: Agree (Agree.com, Inc.) - Category: Contract-to-cash / revenue operations software for finance teams - What it does: e-signature agreements, billing and invoicing, payments and collections, revenue recognition, reconciliation and reporting on one platform - Headquarters: New York, United States - Website: https://agree.com - App: https://secure.agree.com/ - API reference: https://secure.agree.com/documentation ## What Agree does (products) - Agreements: draft, negotiate and sign in one place; every term finance cares about (price, term, uplift, payment terms) is captured as data at signature. - Billing: subscriptions, usage and milestones, invoiced straight from the signed contract, with no separate billing setup to keep in sync. - Invoicing: invoices that draft, send and follow up on themselves, with the contract's terms on every line and ACH, card or wire payment built in. - Payments: payments built into every invoice, each one matched to its invoice and contract as it lands. - Collections and recovery: failed and overdue payments caught as they happen, retried and followed up automatically. - Revenue recognition: ASC 606 / IFRS 15 schedules built from the contract; deferred revenue stays current daily and every number traces back to the agreement. - Close and reporting: contracts, billing, revenue and cash tie out all month; ARR, MRR, DSO and cash flow in real time; journal entries post to the general ledger. - Security and controls: permissions, approval rules, limits on what agents can do alone, and an audit trail of every action from signature to journal entry. - Developer platform: REST API, signed webhooks, an MCP server for AI agents, a CLI and embeddable signing and payment UI. ## The six agents - Contract Agent: reads each signed agreement, captures its terms as data and starts billing, revenue and payments. - Billing Agent: schedules and generates every invoice from the contract, including usage and amendments. - Collection Agent: charges saved payment methods when invoices come due and matches every payment as cash lands. - Recovery Agent: catches failed and overdue payments, retries and follows up until the revenue is recovered. - Reconcile Agent: ties contracts, invoices, cash, revenue and the general ledger together every day. - Insight Agent: surfaces ARR, MRR, DSO and cash flow in real time, with no reports to pull. ## Who Agree is for Finance teams (CFOs, controllers and finance leaders), plus the sales, RevOps and founder teams that hand deals to finance, at B2B companies that sign contracts and bill on them. Strong fit for subscription, usage-based and milestone billing, and for teams that need ASC 606 revenue recognition and a faster close. Industries with dedicated pages: software, agencies, recruiting and staffing, and consulting. Customers include Stripe, Rippling, Deel, Perplexity, Beehiiv and Rho. "We can finally streamline all of our contracts and invoices in the same workflow." (CEO/Founder, Beehiiv) ## Integrations Two-way sync with the systems finance already runs: NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero and Sage (general ledger and ERP), Salesforce and HubSpot (CRM), and Slack. Journal entries post to the GL mapped to your chart of accounts. ## How Agree is different Most teams run contract-to-cash across separate tools: a signed PDF in an e-signature tool, terms re-keyed into a billing system, revenue schedules in spreadsheets, and a month-end close spent making them agree. Agree starts from the signed contract and keeps one record through billing, payment, revenue and the GL, so there is nothing to re-key or tie out. ## API for developers and agents REST API at `https://secure.agree.com/api/v1`. The OpenAPI 3.0 spec at https://secure.agree.com/documentation/openapi is the source of truth for every request and response. - Auth: `Authorization: Bearer `. Keys are created in the Agree app under Settings > API Keys and have full access to the organization; keep them server-side. - Requests: JSON with `Content-Type: application/json`. Params are wrapped by resource (`{"invoice": {...}}`, `{"contact": {...}}`, `{"customer": {...}}`, `{"webhook_endpoint": {...}}`); agreement params sit at the top level. - Responses: `{"data": ...}`; lists add `"pagination": {"page", "page_size", "total_pages", "total_entries"}`. Paginate with `page` and `page_size` (default 10, max 100). - Errors: 400, 401, 403, 404, 409 or 422 with `{"errors": {"": [""]}}`. - Types: IDs are UUIDs; timestamps are ISO 8601 UTC; money is `{"amount": , "currency": "USD"}` in the smallest unit, so 2500 is $25.00. | Task | Call | | --- | --- | | Bill someone once | `POST /invoices/create_and_send` with `billing_contact`, `amount` and `payment_methods` (`ach`, `card`, `wire`) | | Bill on a schedule | `POST /invoices` with `recurring_options` (`repeat_unit` `week` or `month`, `repeat_frequency`, `recurring_end_type`) | | Get a contract signed | `GET /agreements/templates`, then `POST /agreements/create_and_send` with `template_id`, `name` and `recipients` | | Sign and collect together | `POST /agreements` with an `invoice` object | | Bill for usage | `POST /metered_subscriptions`; on `usage_period.pending_entry`, `POST /usage_periods/{id}/commit` with `{"usage": [{"line_item_id", "quantity"}]}` | | Know when money moves | `POST /webhooks` with `{"webhook_endpoint": {"url", "events": ["invoice.paid", "invoice.failed"]}}` | | Find unpaid invoices | `GET /invoices?statuses=sent,due,failed` | | Get ARR, MRR, DSO, aging | `GET /reports/revenue/stats`, `/reports/cashflow/stats`, `/reports/recovery/aging/trend` | Endpoints (relative to the base URL): contacts and customers (`/contacts`, `/customers`); invoices (`/invoices`, `/invoices/create_and_send`, `/invoices/{id}/send`, `/mark_as_sent`, `/mark_as_paid`, `/pdf`, `/receipt_pdf`); agreements (`/agreements`, `/agreements/create_and_send`, `/agreements/{id}/send`, `/send_reminder`, `/pdf`, `/agreements/templates`); metered billing (`/metered_subscriptions`, `/usage_periods`, `/usage_periods/{id}/commit`); webhooks (`/webhooks`, `/webhooks/test`); and read-only reports under `/reports/revenue`, `/reports/cashflow` and `/reports/recovery`. Statuses: invoices are `created`, `sending`, `sent`, `due`, `processing`, `paid`, `failed`, `canceled`, `refunded` or `draft`; agreements are `created`, `drafted`, `sent`, `viewed`, `signed`, `executed`, `renewed` or `terminated`. Webhooks: events are `invoice.created`, `invoice.sent`, `invoice.due`, `invoice.paid`, `invoice.failed`, `invoice.canceled`, `invoice.refunded`, `agreement.created`, `agreement.sent`, `agreement.signed`, `agreement.executed`, `subscription.created`, `usage_period.pending_entry`, `usage_period.committed`, `usage_period.reopened` and `webhook.test`. Each delivery is a POST with `{"event", "payload"}`, where the payload is the full resource. Verify it: HMAC-SHA256 the raw body with the endpoint secret, lowercase hex, and compare to the `X-Webhook-Signature` header in constant time (`X-Webhook-Timestamp` carries the send time). Return 2xx within 5 seconds; failures retry about 1 minute, 5 minutes, 30 minutes and 2 hours later. Delivery is at least once and unordered, so deduplicate. Things that trip agents up: - Some examples in the API reference use `api.agree.com` and `/webhook_endpoints`; use `secure.agree.com` and `/webhooks`, as in the OpenAPI spec. - Invoice list filters `amount_min` and `amount_max` are in dollars, unlike every Money field. - An invoice takes `billing_contact` or `contact_id`, never both. An agreement needs exactly one recipient with role `owner`; updating `recipients` replaces the whole list. - PDF endpoints return a presigned URL valid for one hour, or 202 with `Retry-After` while rendering; repeat the GET. Receipts exist only for paid invoices. - The webhook `secret` is returned once, when the endpoint is created. - Metered billing endpoints return 403 unless the workspace has metered billing; usage commits return 409 before a period is `pending_entry` and on a second commit. ## Frequently asked questions **What is Agree?** Agree is the revenue OS for finance teams: one platform for agreements, billing, payments, collections, revenue recognition and the close, starting from the signed contract. **What does contract-to-cash mean?** The full cycle from a signed agreement to cash in the bank and on the books: contract, billing and invoicing, payment and collections, revenue recognition and reconciliation.
